Bright red-ruby. Knockout nose combines black cherry, redcurrant, dark chocolate, pepper and game. Layered and sweet in the mouth; not especially thick but juicy and firmly built, with an old-viney sweetness and intensity of flavor. Very suave wine, finishing with dusty, even tannins and lovely persistence. Got better and better in the open bottle.
