Aromas of plums and raspberry with cedar undertones greet the nose. The palate is graced with cassis-berry fruit, medium tannins and sweet oak. Lovely long fruit finish. Made 100% from Trefethen's Estate Vineyard located in the southern end of the Napa Valley. Because of its rich alluvial soil, Merlot grapes from this area are highly sought after. The cooler climate gives the vines a longer growing season resulting in mature fruit with optimum varietal character.
