Wine.comBeringer's Private Reserve has always been one of my favorite California Cabernets, particularly since the late seventies. They can be drunk young, but age exceptionally well, giving every indication of holding their fruit and evolving nicely for two decades. International Wine CellarRating: 93/100 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 78, May/June 1998 Good red-ruby color. Reticent black cherry and mineral nose. Fat, sweet, lush fruit is currently kept under wraps by firm underlying structure. But this impressive cabernet has real dimension and depth. Finishes very long, with suave tannins. Should be a beauty.
