WINEMAKER'S NOTE
The wine is full bodied, but elegant with lots of fruit when young. The wine ages very well and develops all the characteristics of a great Bordeaux. 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 3% petit Verdot.

International Wine CellarRating: 94/100 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 103, July/August 2002 ($160-$240) Good deep red. Very complex, perfumed aromas of plum, leather, meat and minerals. Sweet, lush and young; really stuffed with fat, meaty fruit. Broad without being really thick, with impressive precision of fruit. The most complex of these three vintages of Gruaud-Larose. Finishes with big, ripe tannins and palate-staining sweet fruit. The young 2000 reminds me of this wine. (...
