A magnificent wine, the BV 1970 showed complex aromas of fruitcake, spice and coffee. On the palate, the fruit comes through with surprising intensity. Large scaled and yet beautifully balanced, with a long drawn out finish. For me, this is the last truly great wine made at this property although recent efforts have shown a marked improvement. This 1970 shows what is possible from this estate, a wine with ability to age effortlessly for thirty years. 98 points
